Hi friend, Here's the required answer:-
Molecular mass of Sulphur (S8) molecule = 32×8=250 g.
In 250 g of Sulphur= 1 mole
So, in 100 g of Sulphur = 100/250=2/5=0.4 moles.
Hope this helps you...

Hi there, friend !!

Here we are asked to find the no: of moles in 100 grams of Sulphur(S₈) molecule.

We know that molar mass of 1 atom of Sulphur is 32 .

Hence , molar mass of S₈ molecule = 32 × 8
= 256 g

We have a formula to calculate the no:of moles when we know the mass of Sulphur taken and the molar mass.

Given mass = 100 grams
Molar mass = 256 grams

No: of moles =  \frac{Given. mass}{Molar. mass}
=  \frac{100}{256}
= 0.390625 moles
