If sum of 2 number is 95;if one exceeds the other by 15, find the other

let the numbers be x and x+15

APC,

x+x+15= 95

=> 2 x + 15 = 95

=> 2x = 80

=> x = 80/2

=> x = 40 .

x= 40 , x+15 = 40+15=55 .

Let the numbers be = x and y

A.T.Q.-

x+y = 95 .........(1)

x = y+15

x–y = 15 .........(2)

(1) + (2)

x+y = 95

x–y = 15

After adding , we will get -

2x = 110

x = 110/2

x = 55

Put value of x in (1) -

55 + y = 95

y = 95–55

y = 40

Therefore the numbers are -

55 and 40
