Given:-

Sum of zeros of a Quadratic polynomial is 3

The Quadratic polynomial is x² + kx + 2

To find:-

Value of K

SOLUTION:-

As we know that ,

sum \: of \: zeros \:  =  \:  \dfrac{ - b}{a}

Here ,

  • b = coefficient of x term
  • a = coefficient of x² term

x² + kx + 2

  • a = 1
  • b = k
  • c = 2

sum \: of \: zeros \:  =  \dfrac{ - b}{a}

3 =  \dfrac{ - k}{1}

3(1) =  - k

 - k = 3

k =  - 3

So, the value of k is -3
