If swami Vivekananda sees India today ,what will he be proud of and what will he be ashamed of

If Swami Vivekananda saw India today, he would have mixed feelings of joy and sorrows. Swami Vivekananda had a vision of India that would be advanced spiritually, technologically, scientifically, politically, educationally, and in all other areas.

If he saw India today, he would be happy at the advancements India has made in many spheres. However, he would also be sad to see the much grown materialism across the nation. His heart would pain to see his beloved motherland still being afflicted with the problems of corruption, mismanagement, nepotism, poverty, unemployment, deforestation, pollution, unplanned urbanization and industrialization.

The thing that would pain him the most would be the degradation of spiritual and moral values. Swami Vivekananda wanted Indians to be exceedingly spiritual and enlightened. It would pain his heart to see the youth groveling in the mire of carnal pleasures and sensuality. He would be distressed to see the youth wasting their energies in drug, mobile, or any other useless addictions.

Let’s try our best to make Swami Vivekananda’s visions reality. That would be a true tribute to his great soul.

Answer:

If swami Vivekananda were on a visit in 2019, he was surely astonished by the growth of our country which makes him so proud. He would have a mixed feeling but pain will grieve his heart more than the joy. He can see the technological advancement in our lives but he would worry that we are lacking spiritual knowledge. Corruption, poverty, unemployment, pollution, deforestation, lacking of proper governance, misleading leaders, people’s priority over materialistic things will surely create an ache in his heart.

He would be really worried about the lifestyle we, people, are having nowadays because he may feel that we are forgetting our own culture and the traditions that we uniquely had, few decades ago. He worried about the extinction of certain rituals of our country and he can see that the habit of helping and empathetic living has decreased to a large extent. Nowadays, people run after the luxury of the world rather they forget their own happiness. At last, he will surely think that life would be better if this technological advancement had not invaded the people’s lives.

Everything will be good, if it was under our control. If something controls us, it will surely destroy us.
