I think some typing mistake
It should be cot(A - 18) not cos(A - 18)
tan2A = cos(A - 18)
[ tan∅ = cot(90 - ∅)]
=> cot(90 - 2A) = cot(A - 18)
=> 90 - 2A = A - 18
=> 2A + A = 90 + 18
=> 3A = 108
=> A = 108/3
=> A = 36

tan2A = tan[90 - (A - 18)]
=> 2A = 90 - A + 18
=> 3A = 108
=> A = 108/3
=> A = 36
