Hi dear!!
here is your answer !!
Given us,
Tan ( a - 18 ) = Cot 3a
°.° Cot 3a = Tan ( 90 - 3a )
So, we can write,
Tan ( a - 18 ) = Tan ( 90 - 3a )
°.° a -18 and 90 - 3a both are an acute angle
so ,
a - 18 = 90 - 3a
=> a +3a = 90 +18
=> 4a = 108
=> a = 108/4
=> a = 27
.°. The value of a is 27
