Answer:

if tan A = 5/12

opposite side of A = 5

adjacent side = 12

hypotenuse = √5²+12²= √25+144= √169= 13

sin²A+ cos²A = (5/13)² + ( 12/13)²

sin²A+ cos²A= 25/169 + 144/169

sin²A+ cos²A= 25+144/169

sin²A+ cos²A= 169/169

sin²A+ cos²A= 1
