If tan theta = a/b, find cosec theta.

Answer:

Given , Tan Theta = a/b = Perpendicular/Base

We know that,

Sin Theta = Perpendicular / Hypotenuse

By Pythagoras theorem

(H)²= (P)²+(B)²

(H)²= (a)²+(b)²

H = √a²+b²

Now Sin Theta = a/√a²+b²

And We also know that Cosec Theta= Inverse of Sin Theta

Cosec Theta = Hypotenuse / Perpendicular = √a²+b²/a
