Squaring on both sides you will get

(Tan theta +cot theta )^2=4^2

Tan2 theta +cot2 theta +2tan theta. cot theta =16

Tan 2 theta +cot 2 theta +2(1)=16

Tan2 theta+ cot 2 theta =16-2

Tan2 theta +cot 2 theta=14

Answer: HERE YOU GO!!! MATE!!

Step-by-step explanation:

Tan theta + cot theta= 4

SQUARING ON BOTH SIDES GIVES YOU....

(tan theta+cot theta)^2=(4)^2

Tan^2 theta + cot^2 theta+2tan theta.cot theta = 16

(2 tan theta.cot theta)=2 tan theta.1/tan theta= 2

Tan^2 theta + cot^2 theta + 2= 16

Tan^2 theta + cot^2 theta = 14

HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU!!!!
