tan x + sec x = 1/2-------(1)[for convenience i took x instead of theta plz change it ]
sec ^2 x - tan ^2 x =1 [ identity]
(sec x - tan x) (sec x+ tan x ) = 1 [ a^2 - b^2 = (a-b ) (a+b)]
(sec x - tan x ) *1/2 = 1 [ from (1)
sec x - tan x = 2 -----(2)
add (1) and (2)
2 sec x = 1/2 +2
2 sec x = 5/2
sec x = 5/4
sec ^2 x - tan ^2 x =1 [ identity]
(sec x - tan x) (sec x+ tan x ) = 1 [ a^2 - b^2 = (a-b ) (a+b)]
(sec x - tan x ) *1/2 = 1 [ from (1)
sec x - tan x = 2 -----(2)
add (1) and (2)
2 sec x = 1/2 +2
2 sec x = 5/2
sec x = 5/4
