hey mate here is ur answer =

Tan 50° = cot 40°

Cot 40°=p/q.

In the triangle hypotenuse will be root p^2+q^2.

Base will be P and height will be q

So Cos 40°= Adjacent/hypotenuse=p/root(p^2+q^2).
