Answer:

tan A = 12/16 = p/b

so p = 12 nd b= 16

h = √p²+b²

h = √144+256

h = √400

h = 20

so,

cos A = b/h = 16/20

hope u understand

sorry I don't have notebook with me now that's why solved here only but expect that u will manage..

Answer:

Given : Tan A = 12/16

Simplifying it we get, Tan A = 3/4

Since, Tan A= perpendicular/ Base

Therefore, Perpendicular = 3

and base = 4

By Pythagoras Theorem ,

H² = P² + B²

H² = 3² + 4²

H² = 9 + 16

H² = 25

H = √25

H = 5

Since, Cos A = Base/Hypotenuse

Therefore, Cos A = 4/5.
