Given,

tanA = 5/12

Now,

(sinA + cosA) secA

= sinA secA + cosA secA

= sinA/cosA + 1,

since 1/cosA = secA

= tanA + 1,

since tanA = sinA/cosA

= 5/12 + 1

= (5 + 12)/12

= 17/12
