We know,

 \bold{(tanA+cotA)=5}

So, applying the concept in,

(tan²A+cot²A), we get,

 =  > (tan²A+cot²A) \\  =  >(tanA+cotA)² - 2tanAcotA \\  =  > (5) {}^{2}  - 2  \times  \cancel{tanA}( \frac{1}{ \cancel{tanA}} ) \\  =  > 25 - 2 \\  =  >  \boxed{23} \bold{is \: the \: answer}

Basic formula used:-

(a²+b²) = (a+b)² - 2ab

(or)

= (a²+b²)+2ab-2ab
