SOLUTION

GIVEN

tanA = cotA

TO DETERMINE

The value of cosA

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

tanA = cotA

 \sf{ \implies \tan A =  \tan( {90}^{ \circ} - A )}

 \sf{ \implies  A =  ( {90}^{ \circ} - A )}

 \sf{ \implies 2 A =  {90}^{ \circ} }

 \sf{ \implies A =  {45}^{ \circ} }

 \sf{ \therefore \:  \cos A }

 \sf{  =  \cos  {45}^{ \circ} }

 \displaystyle \:  =  \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} }
