Answer:

PA and PB are tangent   ⇒∠OAP=90  

 and ∠OBP=90  

 

OA and OB are the radius

OA=OB=5cm

OP=13cm

In ΔOAP

OA is perpendicular to AP, as in a circle the radius and the tangent are perpendicular at a point on the circle.

∴    OA2  +AP2  =OP2

 

⇒AP2  = 169 - 25    

 

⇒AP=12cm

Similarly in ΔOBP

OB2   +BP2  =OP 2

 

⇒BP=12cm

∴    Perimeter of OAPB=OA+AP+PB+OB=5+12+12+5

                                         =10+24=34cm
