Given :-

  • Tanvi gives an interest of Rs.40 for one year at 5% rate p.a.

To Find :-

  • Total sum she has borrowed ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, Tanvi borrowed Rs.x .

we know that,

  • Interest for 1 year = (Principal * Rate * Time)/100

we have,

  • Principal = Rs. x
  • Interest = Rs.40
  • Rate = 5% PA
  • Time = 1 year .

so, putting all values we get,

→ 40 = (x * 5 * 1) / 100

→ 40 * 100 = 5x

→ 4000 = 5x

→ x = 4000/5

→ x = Rs.800 (Ans.)

Hence, Tanvi has borrowed Rs.800 .
