Answer:

simple interest=40 ,rate =5%,time=1 year , principle=??

s.i=prt/100

p=s.i.×100/rt

=40×100/(5×1)

=800

therefore , tanvi has borrowed the sum of 800 rs.

Answer:

this is a question of simple intrest

Step-by-step explanation:

1) use formula (PxRxT) divided by 100

2) P is principle,

   R is rate

   T is time and

   SI is simple intrest

P is not given assume it as x

then (PxRxT) X multiplied by 5 into 1(time) = 40

                       100

40x100 =  X

  5

now cut 40 and 5 that is

8x100

  1

so the sum borrowed is 800 rs
