c {}^{2}  = a {}^{2}  +  b {}^{2}

c {}^{2}  = 5 {}^{2}  + 12 {}^{2}

c = 13

 \cos(x)  =  \frac{adj}{hyp}

 \cos(x)  =  \frac{12}{13}
