So for a 1000-piece puzzle the estimate would be 126 edge pieces, for a 300-piece puzzle it would be 69 edge pieces and for a 2000-piece monster it would be 179 edge pieces. Incidentally, this also illustrates why puzzles get a lot harder the more pieces there are.

Answer:

It exemplifies permutation without repetition.

Step-by-step explanation:

Permutation: A permutation is an arrangement of things in a specific sequence. This section presents the members or components of sets in sequential or chronological order. For example, for the set A=1,6, there are two potential permutations: "1,6," and "6,1." As can be seen, there are no other potential configurations for the components that comprise set A.

Combination: The joining or merging of many parts or traits in which each constituent part or trait keeps its distinct identity.

Step 1: Given

50 distinct puzzle pieces

All of them have been used to solve the puzzle.

As a result, no repetition is permitted.

step 2- Total number of possible passcodes

Because all puzzle pieces must be used, no repeat is permitted.

As a result, each of the 50 pieces can only be used once.

As a result, if we start with a piece like "1 2 3... up to... 50," we get one combination.

Another example would be "2 1 3... up to... 50" or "3 1 2... up to... 50" and so on.

So we can choose the first piece in 50 different ways, with 49 options remaining for the second piece (48, 47, respectively).

As a result,50* 49 *48 *47 *46 *45* .......... *1 = 50 !

As a result, it is an example of permutation without repetition
