 log_{a}( \sqrt{2} )  =   \frac{1}{6} \\  {a}^{ \frac{1}{6} }    =  \sqrt{2} \\  {a}^{ \frac{1}{6} }   =   {2}^{ \frac{1}{2} \times  \frac{3}{3}  }  \\  {a}^{ \frac{1}{6} }  =  {2}^{ \frac{3}{6} }   \\  a =  {2}^{3}   \\ a = 8
