1/x= 1/(2+√3)

=(2-√3)/(2+√3)(2-√3)

=(2-√3)/(2^2-√3^2)

=(2-√3)/(4-3)

=(2-√3)/1

=2-√3

so, x+1/x=2+√3+2-√3=4

x+1/x=4
