 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }

Given, \: x -  \frac{1}{x}  = 3 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = ( {x -  \frac{1}{x}) }^{2}  + 2x. \frac{1}{x}  \\  \\  =  {3}^{2}  + 2 \\  \\  = 9 + 2 \\  \\  = 11
