Given :   10th term of an Arithmetic progression is 100

and common difference is 10,

To Find the first term.

Solution:

First term  =  a

Common difference d  = 10

n = nth term

aₙ  = a + (n - 1) d

10th term = 100

=> a₁₀ = 10   and  n = 10

100 = a  + (10 - 1) 10

=> 100 =a + 90

=> a = 10

Hence  the first term is 10
