=> a+16d-a-9d=7

=> 7d=7

Let a ne the first term and d be the common difference.

tn=a+(n-1) d....... (Formula)

t17=a+16d............. (1)

t10=a+9d.............. (2)

Therefore, From given condition,

a+16d=a+9d-7..... (3)

a-a+16d-9d=-7

7d=-7

d=-1

Therefore, substituting the value of d in (3)

a-16=a-9-7

a-16=a-16

therefore, a=0
