if the 3 consecutive term of an AP are x+4, 2x+x and 12, find the value of x​

Answer:

The three consecutive terms are ( x+4),(2x+x) & 12

So, their common difference should be equal

so, (2x+x)-(x+4)=12-(2x+x)

Now you can find the value of x!!!

we know that (2x+x)-(x+4)=d

                      2x-4 =d                                 (1)

also                12-(2x+x)=d

                      12-3x=d                                (2)

from (1) and (2) we get

                     2x-4=12-3x

                    5x=16

                    x=16/5
