If the 3rd term and 9th term of an ap are 4 and minus minus 8 respectively which term of the ap is zero

T3=4=a+2d.....eq(1)

T9=-8=a+8d.....eq(2)

subrtact eq(1)by eq(2),we get

12=-6d

d=-2 put the value of d in eq(1),we get

a=8,now expand the AP with comman difference -2

8,6,4,2,0,-2,-4,-6,-8,.....hence 5th term of the A.P. is zero
