Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the edge of the cube be X, then its volume would be X³,

And when the length of X is doubled, it becomes 2x,

So, its volume = (2x)³.

= 8x³.

So, ratio of the volume= Original volume/ new volume,

= 8x³/x³,

= 8:1.

Answer:

lnitial case( when the edge is original):-)

let the edge of a cube be = x .

So,

volume of the cube is given by

V=  {x}^{3}

After doubling the edge:-)

When the edge becomes double

i.e.

x'= 2x

volume will be

V  '=  ({2x})^{3}  \\  \\  = 8 {x}^{3} \\  \\  = 8V

So,

when we double the edge the volume will become 8 Times.

Ratio ,

V : V'

= V : 8V

= 1 : 8
