Answer:

let the present age of B be x year old

Then according to Question:

Age of A = 1.5 times of age B

Age of A = 1.5x year old

6 years hence

Age of A = 1.5x + 6

and

Age of A = Age of c

Age of C = 1.5x + 6

before 4 years

Age of A = 1.5x - 4 year

Age of B = x - 4 year

Age of C = 1.5x + 6 - 4 year

sum of age of all three is 42

1.5x - 4 + x - 4 + 1.5x + 6 - 4 = 42

4x - 6 = 42

4x = 42 + 6

4x = 48

x = 48/4

x = 12 years old

age of B = 12 years old

age of A = 12 × 1.5 = 18 years old

the age difference between A and B = 18 - 12

= 6 year

I hope this is helpful
