If the air in a carton of milk is allowed to warm it will expand because the molecules will gain energy and will vibrate more. When gas will expand, it will increase the pressure of the carton. If the pressure of carton increases the carton may burst.

Warming of air can also promote the growth of microbes which will decompose the milk protein resulting in staling of milk. But this is higlhy unlikely because we are specifically in warming the air.
