If the angle of a minor sector is 60° , what is the formula to find the area of the major sector with radius 'r'?

area of minor sector = theta / 360° * pi*r^2

hence area of major sector = area of the respective circle- area of minor sector

ie , (pi*r^2) - theta / 360° * pi*r^2

Area of sector = 60/360 ×3.14×10×10

= 1/6×314

= 52.33cm²

Area of circle= πr²

= 3.14×10×10

= 314 cm²

Area of minor sector= area of sector = 52.33 cm²

Area of major sector= area of circle- area of minor arc

= 314-52.33

=261.67cm²
