Question :

If the angles of a triangle are in the ratio 4:4:2, find the value of each angle.

Answer :

The angles are 72°, 72° and 36°

Given :

the angles of a triangle are in the ratio 4:4:2

To find :

the value of each angle

Solution :

    the angles of a triangle are in the ratio 4:4:2

Let the angles be

  • 4x
  • 4x
  • 2x

We know that,

       Sum of all angles in a triangle = 180°

                 4x + 4x + 2x = 180°

                      10x = 180°

                         x = 180°/10

                         x = 18°

Substitute the value of x,

4x = 4(18°) = 72°

⇒ 4x = 4(18°) = 72°

⇒ 2x = 2(18°) = 36°

The angles are :

  • 72°
  • 72°
  • 36°
