This chapter presents an abstract on Niels Bohr's communication: “Electron Capture by Swiftly Moving Ions of High Nuclear Charge.” In the communication it was discussed how, by means of simple theoretical considerations carried out in collaboration with J. Lindhard, it seems possible to explain the main features of the interesting results obtained by N.O. Lassen through experimental investigations on the total electric charge of fission fragments during their passage through different substances.
