Answer:

6y°and 3y°

We know,

6y=6×y and 3y=3×y

Supplementary angle =180

6y=6×20 =120

3y=3×20 =60

120+60=180

That is,

y=20

I hope its help you

\sf\Large{\underline{\underline{Answer:-}}}

Given,

  • Supplements = 6y° and 3y°
  • Find the value of y

We know that, the pair of Angles which makes 180° are called supplementary.

{\bold\green{Therefore;}}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{6y + 3y = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{9y \:  = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;y\;=\;\bf{\dfrac{180}{9}\:}}\end{gathered}

Cancel them.

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;y\;=\;\bf{{20}\:}}\end{gathered}

{\bold\red{➥}}Thus the value of y is 20.

To verify the answer,

Put the value of y in place of y,

let see,

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{6y + 3y = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{6(20) + 3(20) = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{120 + 60 = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;\;\bf{{180 = 180}\:}}\end{gathered}

As, LHS = RHS so the Answer is correct i.e. y = 12
