Area = 5400 = l*b

=> l = 5400/b

Perimeter = 300 = 2(l+b)

=>300=2(l+b)

Putting value of l,

=> 300 = 2((5400/b)+b)

=> 300/2 =(5400+b^2)/b

=> 150b = 5400 + b^2

=> b^2-150b+5400 = 0

On solving it we get value of b as

=> (b-180)(b+30) = 0

.•. b= 180 or -30(not applicable as measurements cannot be negative)

.•. l = 5400/b = 5400/180 = 30

Answer :

Length = 180 feet

Breadth = 30 feet
