Answer:

area of right angled triangle=(b×h)/2

70cm²= (14×h)/2

140=14×h

h=140/14=10cm

Given -

  • Area of triangle = 70cm²

  • Length of 1st side = 14cm

To find -

  • Length of 2nd side.

Solution -

In this question, we are given with the area and length of one side of a triangle, and we need to find the length of 2nd side, for that we will use the formula of area of triangle.

So -

Area of triangle = \sf\dfrac{1}{2} × b × a

where -

b = Base = x cm

a = Altitude = 14cm

On substituting the values -

Area = \sf\dfrac{1}{2} × Base × Altitude

\longrightarrow \sf\dfrac{1}{2} × x × 14cm = 70cm²

\longrightarrow 7x = 70cm²

\longrightarrow x = \sf\cancel\dfrac{70cm}{7}

\longrightarrow x = 10cm

Verification -

Area = \sf\dfrac{1}{2} × b × a

70cm² = \sf\dfrac{1}{2} × 10cm × 14cm

70cm² = 10cm × 7cm

70cm² = 70cm²

\therefore Length of 2nd side of triangle is 10cm
