If the area of a ring is 144cm² and the radius of the bigger circle is 2 times the radius of the smaller circle, find the radii of both the circles. ​

Answer:

area of ring =area of big circle-area of small circle

144=π(2r)²-πr²

144=π[4r²-r²]

144/3.14=3r²

3r²=45.85

r²=15.28

r=3.91cm

2r=2×3.91=7.82cm

radius of big circle=7.82cm and radius of samll circle is=3.91cm
