QuestioN :

GiveN :

  • If the area of a sector of a circle of radius 6 cm is 9 pie cm square.

To FiNd :

  • The angle subtended at the center of the circle.

ANswer :

Angle subtended at the centre of circle = 90°

SolutioN :

Given ; Area of sector of a circle = 9π cm²

Radius = 6 cm

∴ Angle subtended at the center, θ = ?

We know that,

⇒ Area of a sector = r²θ/2

⇒ 9π = (6² * θ)/2

⇒ 9π = (36 * θ)/2

⇒ 9π = 18θ

⇒ θ = 9π/18

⇒ θ = (1/2 π) Radians

⇒ θ = 90°         [∵ π/2 radians = 90°]

∴Hence, Angle subtended at the centre of circle = 90°
