Answer:

Area of the triangle = 1176 cm²

Ratio of Base : Altitude = 3 : 4

Let the base be 3x and altitude be 4x

Area of triangle = Base × Altitude / 2

⇒ 1176 = 3x × 4x / 2

⇒ 1176 = 12x² / 2

⇒ 1176 = 6x²

⇒ x² = 1176 / 6

⇒ x² = 196

⇒ x = √196 = 14

So the Altitude is 4x which is 4 × 14 = 56 cm

Area = 1/2 x base x height = 1176

⇒ 1/2 × 3x × 4x = 1176

⇒ 6 x² = 1176

⇒ x² = 196

∴ x = 14

Height = 14 x 4 = 56 cm
