Solution:Area of triangle = Area of square with side 12 cm =12X12 = 144
              Base=12
              Area of triangle=1/2 x base x altitude
              144 = 1/2 x 12 x altitude
              Altitude=24cm

As we know Area of Triangle when altitude is known is given by → 1/2 × b × h

Area of Square → side²
= 12²
= 144cm²

Area of Triangle = Area of Square

So , Area of Triangle = 144cm²

or, 144cm² = 1/2 × b × h

or, 144 = 1/2 × 12 × h

or, 144 = 6h

or, h = 144/6

or, h = 24cm

So, the Altitude of Triangle = 24 cm.
