area of isosceles right angle triangle=1/2(product of same sides}
Let length of same sides are x.
Then,1/2 x^2=32cm^2
So x=8 cm.

And nothing longest,shortest here.Both altitude and base are of same length as it is isosceles.

Answer is 8 cm.

Thanks.

Answer: The longest altitude is also equal to 8 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Area of an isosceles triangle = 32 cm²

Since it is an isosceles triangle.

So, let the equal sides be 'x'.

As we know the formula "Area of triangle":

Area=\frac{1}{2}\times base\times height\\\\32=\frac{1}{2}\times x\times x\\\\32\times 2=x^2\\\\64=x^2\\\\x=\sqrt{64}=8

Hence, the longest altitude is also equal to 8 cm.
