In the case of contact forces between two objects as the area of contact between the two increases the pressure per square unit of measure will decrease.

The pressure is the force per unit area. So, P=F/A

Thus the pressure P is inversely proportional to contact area A.

So when area increases , the pressure will be decreasing.
