28 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Q.

If the area of the circle is 616 cm², then what is the length of the greatest chord.

Solution -

As we know,

area of circle = πr²

  >  =  > \pi {r}^{2}  = 616   \\  \\  =  >  \frac{22}{7}  {r}^{2}  = 616 \\  \\  =  > 22 {r}^{2}  = 616 \times 7 \\  \\  =  > 22 {r}^{2}  = 4312 \\  \\  =  >  {r}^{2}  =  \frac{4312}{22}  \\  \\  =  >  {r}^{2}  =  196 \\  \\  =  > r = 14cm

Longest chord of circle = diameter (d)

=> d = 2r

=> d = 2 × 14 cm

=> d = 28 cm

Hence the longest chord of circle = 28 cm

hope it helps.
