Given : Area of the rectangle is given by the polynomial 2x²-7x-15,

To Find : the dimension of the rectangle in terms of X

Solution:

Area of the rectangle is given by the polynomial 2x²-7x-15,

Area of the rectangle = length * breadth

2x²-7x-15

using middle term split

= 2x²-10x+3x -15

Taking 2x  common from 1st 2 terms and 3 common from last 2 terms

=  2x( x - 5) + 3(x - 5)

Taking (x - 5) common from both the terms

= ( x - 5)(2x + 3)

(x - 5)  and ( 2x + 3)  are the sides of the rectangle

Answer:

2x²-7x-15 can be factored as: (2x+3)(x-5).

Therefore assume that the dimensions of the rectangle are 2x+3 and x-5.
