mean between 3x and 2x - 7 is X + 4 then find x

4
Mean =  \frac{sum of observations}{number of observations}

x + 4 =  \frac{3x + 2x - 7 }{2}

2(x + 4) = 3x + 2x - 7

2x + 8 = 5x - 7

8 + 7 = 5x - 2x

15 = 3x

 \frac{15}{3}  = x

5 = x

Hello friends!!

Here is your answer :

Mean

  \\ =  >     \frac{sum \:  \: of \:  \: all \:  \: observations \: }{total \:  \: number \:  \: of \:  \: observation}

Observations are 3x and 2x - 7

Mean = x + 4

 \\ x  + 4 =  \frac{3x + 2x - 7}{2}

2(x + 4) = 5x  - 7

2x  + 8 = 5x - 7

2x - 5x =  - 7 - 8

 - 3x = -  15

3x = 15

 \\ x =  \frac{15}{3}

x = 5

Hope it helps you... ^_^
