atmospheric pressure is high but gravitational force is very less to crush it

Answer:
The atmosphere does indeed exert a lot of pressure on our bodies, add to that the fact that we are pulled down by our own weight too, But this proves insufficient to crush us, due to the fact that our body has its own internal pressure too. The internal pressure of our bodies balance out the external atmospheric pressure, which doesn't let us become compressed or deformed. However, at high altitudes, like a mountain, the atm. pressure decreases considerably, and at this time, our internal pressure dominates, leading to the bursting of veins. Thus, the mountaineers are advised to carry an oxygen cylinder with them.
