If the atomic number is 20 that means number of protons also 20 and in an neutral atom , no. Of protons = No of electrons, this number of electrons will also be 20 .
Valency can be found by electronic configuration , as atomic number is 20 ,
It will be 2,8,8,2 . The valency will be 2 as it has 2 electrons in last shell .
