If the average of 5 consecutive odd numbers is 31 .what is the sum of the largest and the smallest odd number

3x+4=31

3x=31-4

x=27/3

then the consecutive odd numbers are x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8

average=sum of/no.of

sum=x+(x+2)+(x+4)+(x+6)+(x+8)/5

=5x+20/5

but according to problem

sum =31

5x+20/5=31

85x+20=31*5

5x+20=155

5x=155-20

5x=135

x=135/5

x=27

smallest odd number=x=27

largest odd number=x+8=27+8

=35

sum of largest and smallest odd numbers=27+35

=62
