If the average of seven consecutive numbers is 20 then what will be the largest of these numbers

x+(x+1)+(x+2)+(x+3)+(x+4)+(x+5)+(x+6)/7=20
=7x+21=140
x=119/7=17
x+6 =17+6=23

Define x:

Let the smallest number be x

The rest of the 6 numbers are (x + 1), (x + 2), (x + 3), (x + 4), (x + 5) and (x + 6 )


Find the sum of the 7 numbers:

Average = 20

Sum = 7 x 20 = 140


Solve x:

Given that the sum is 20

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4) + (x + 5)  + (x + 6 ) = 140

x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4 + x + 5 + x + 6 = 140

7x + 21 = 140

7x = 119

x = 17


Find the largest number:

Largest number = x + 6 = 17 + 6 = 23


Answer: The number is 23
