Given :  base angles of an isosceles triangle add up to 80 degree

To find : the vertical angle

Solution:

Using triangle angle sum theorem :

Sum of all three angles = 180°

Sum of two Base angles + Vertical angle  = 180°

80° +  Vertical angle  = 180°

=> Vertical angle  = 100°

Additional Info:

Base angles of isosceles triangle are equal

=> Each base angle = 80°/2 = 40°
